Memories of Growing up in Gallup

Home isn’t a place, it’s a feeling.

“Home wasn’t a set house, or a single town on a map.
It was wherever the people who loved you were, whenever you were together.
Not a place, but a moment, and then another, building on each other like bricks
to create a solid shelter that you take with you for your entire life,
wherever you may go.”

  1. Hi my name is Daniel Kelley I was born in Gallup play baseball there worked out at the mines uranium mines and also the rigs oil rigs. You make me proud of being from gallon. Thank you.

  2. I grew up outside of Gallup, called Ft. Wingate. However we all got bused into Gallup on that long bus ride. Many winters and springs came and went away with the memories of friends I knew and forgot along the way. I still remember my good friends from Indian Hills, my friend Eldon Joka, Erin-Skye Elliott, Benny Thompson and Frankie Albert.
The one thing that made Gallup memorable was Avalons on a Friday night. The Chinese food I judge all Chow mein by.
